Some basics: Foreign language courses are quite different from other courses so you must never drag your feet about it. Procrastination equals failure in foreign language courses so you must spend a minimum of 15 minutes each day and a minimum of 3 hours a week. While you need not put in more than 45 minutes learning the language in one session, try to accommodate all the extra time you have in your hands.
Divide your lessons into many smaller sessions. It is imperative that you attend classes regularly, if you are sincere about your intentions of learning the language and pass the course. You could revisit your learning off and on and check what your have learnt in the past, for example the vocabulary. Here are some ideas to make the learning of different sections of a foreign language course simpler.
Running through printed material: Focus on reading purely for comprehension and do not stop when you come across new words.

Read the language in small bits daily especially from the text book.
Move on to talking:Everyone makes mistakes so listen to what others are saying and start to talk. Start to talk in the foreign language with your class mates, with yourself as well as with your pets.
Scribbling: Know how to pen down ideas everyday till it comes naturally to you.
Try having a friend dictate some of the language to you while you write it down and then check what you have written for accuracy.
Other helps: Must have a positive deportment and know your goals and reasons for studying the foreign language. Make sure you are fully aware of what your goals are and how to reach there. {1.f you need help get it and do not be afraid to ask questions or ask for help for fear of sounding stupid, or being embarrassed.} 1. {2.Get audio tapes of the language and listen to them or make you own tapes and listened to yourself in order to perfect your pronunciation.} 2. 3.Make flash cards for vocabulary and try using different colors for different genders of the words and for different categories of words such as nouns, verbs and adjectives. 4.Practice in study groups and become good friends with some of your classmates because they can help you out.
